George D. Stephens

Stephens, George D. Born on August 4, 1942, in Rockford, IL. He was raised in Rockford, IL where he completed his high school education at Rockford West Senior High School. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army and after his service he furthered his studies at Rock Valley Community College in Rockford, IL. The Lord called him home on July 21, 2015 after long battles with several health complications. He was preceded in death by his parents and his lifelong love Shirley M. Stephens. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Roman S. Stephens (Patrice) of Milton, Georgia; his brother, Ronald Stephens (Peggy) of Rockford, Illinois; his aunt, Francis ("Tosh") Stone of Akron, Ohio, his grandchildren, Baleigh, Zion and Zoey Stephens and Khynnedi Wright; in-laws Jean Jordan (Robert), Emma Robinson and special nephew whom he helped raise Mark Robinson (Shuntelle) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Service Saturday, July 25, 1:00 PM at Jones United Methodist Church, 2404 Almeda Genoa Road, Houston, TX 77047.
