Polk, Robert Lester "Bob" 92, of Lake City, died peacefully on July 15, 2015. Born March 23, 1923 to Lester and Marie Polk in Minneapolis, MN, Bob served in the Navy during World War II managing a recreational facility in the Philippines. Bob was the first person in his family to go to college and receive a bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Minnesota. Upon his return from the service, Bob married Patricia (Johnson) on February 14, 1948. He was a trainer for the Minneapolis Lakers before spending the majority of his career as a hospital administrator in Lake City, MN, Northfield, MN, and Brookings, SD. Bob was known affectionately as the "Pied Piper's Son," for his ability to make friends every where he went. A faithful follower of Christ, Bob personified the Word in his every day life. After Pat's death in 1984, Bob married Beverly (Anderson) on June 28, 1986. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Margaret, his first wife, Pat, and second wife, Bev. He is survived by his son Michael, and daughters Lisa and Gail, brother Donald, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held on July 29 with visitation at 10 a.m., and a service at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 100 Peace Ridge, in Lake City, MN. Donations can be directed to the Robert L. Polk Memorial Fund at First Lutheran Church.
