Lehman, Robert Spencer Minneapolis - Robert ("Robbie") Lehman, age 23, passed away unexpectedly in a tragic bus accident in the city of Mbeya in Southwestern Tanzania on May 24, 2015. He was serving in the Peace Corps at the time of his death. Robbie was born on April 23, 1992 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Dr. Gregory T. Lehman and Dr. Dawn L. Martin. He is survived by his parents, loving sisters Sarah and Laura, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Robbie graduated from Edina High School in 2010 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2014 at St. Olaf College. Robbie was passionate about service to others. He volunteered in the emergency room, mentoring youth, on several mission trips, and helped those living with HIV through the Aliveness Project. His dream was to work for the Peace Corps, and he was thrilled to become a community health volunteer in Tanzania. He was a great listener, and his caring and laughter were gifts he shared abundantly. Robbie loved nature and the outdoors, he spent summers at the family cabin in northern Wisconsin, fishing, making "crazy hot" saunas, slalom water skiing, and camping in the Boundary Waters. He loved all kinds of music, and was a talented artist and a great dancer. Most of all he loved his family and friends, and we couldn't get enough of being with this remarkable young man. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, May 31st at Judson Memorial Baptist Church, 4101 Harriet Ave, Minneapolis. Memorials can be directed to any of the following organizations: the Peace Corps Partnership Program at peacecorps.gov/… - St. Olaf College at stolaf.edu/… - or the TRUST Youth Group c/o Judson Memorial Baptist Church.
