Bennett, Ruth (Hokanson) Age 94 of Edina passed away April 17, 2015. She is survived by her sons Brian (Earlene), Gregg (Cindy); Jeff all of Minneapolis and Kevin (Jane) of Steamboat Springs, CO. and their families including 9 grandchildren Jennie, Kevin, Gregg (Bo), Caroline (Cookie) Rey, Stephen, Peter, Lydia, Annie Ekblad and Ed Ryberg and 11 great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) and her siblings Ted, Kathryn Corwin, Charles (Chas), George, Wes, Myra Jean Sather and Harriet (Hotz) Parke, who passed away hours earlier on April 16th. Ruth was an excellent bridge player, spending countless hours at the Minneapolis Bridge Center; she did not play just for fun, but for the competition and she didn't like to lose. She played at the bridge center as recently as 3 weeks ago. She was a very generous person, giving freely to many people and causes. This is a quote from her high school year book. "Her heart doesn't know we're off the gold standard." Ruth also loved the 100 year old cabin on Little Pelican Lake near Nisswa, and she was a wonderful host for the many groups of boys that joined her sons on these trips. A Celebration of Life for Ruth and Harriet will be held at the Lakewood Chapel, 3600 Hennepin, Minneapolis from 10-11 AM on Saturday, April 25th with visitation 30 minutes prior. Memorials to N C Little Hospice or donor's choice.
