Kingman, Rocel R. Age 58, of Minneapolis, died peacefully on April 10, from complications of ovarian cancer. Rocel is survived by her husband of 31 years, David; sons Sam (and fiancée Winter) of Minneapolis, Benner (Sangyi) of Seoul, Korea, and Teddy of Bozeman, MT; and grandson Edward L. Kingman (Seoul). She is also survived by her mother, Betty Ratner, and sister, Shayne Ratner, of Edina, brother Jeff Cochran of Rochester, MN, and brother Mike Cochran of Eden Prairie. Rocel was preceded in death by her father, S. Augie Ratner. Rocel was a 1974 graduate of Minneapolis West High School. She attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA and graduated from the U. of M. in 1978. After college Rocel taught elementary school in Northfield, MN, was a media buyer and planner at Campbell-Mithun, owned and operated a children's clothing manufacturing business, and was the marketing director for the Freshwater Foundation. After spending many years raising her three boys, she returned to work as the marketing and communications director for Tria Orthopaedic Center. Rocel loved spending time with her family, in particular, hiking, biking, reading, cooking and relaxing on the North Shore and in Montana. Rocel and her family thank Dr. C. Bailey and the wonderful team at Minnesota Oncology as well as the team at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and Allina Hospice that took such great care of her these past few months. Memorials may be made to Pathways Health Crisis Resource Center, Minneapolis or the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MOCA). A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Plymouth Congregational Church 1900 Nicollet Ave., Mpls, MN 55403.
