Isabel was born March 4,1915 to Annie Riggs Ostvig and Albert Ogaard Ostvig in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She moved shortly thereafter to Monticello, Minnesota where she resided and graduated from Monticello High School in 1933. Isabel took it upon herself to organize reunions for the class of 1933 from the 25th anniversary of their graduation year and continued the tradition through the 75th reunion in 2008. Isabel is the granddaughter of Ashley C. Riggs who organized and established the City of Monticello, Minnesota in 1856. Isabel married her high school sweetheart, Richard Norbert Holker on October 4, 1934. Shortly thereafter they purchased a farm near Rice, Minnesota where they began their family of eight children. Isabel experienced the tragedy of losing her first child Richard, 21 days after his birth. In 1946 they sold the farm and purchased the Red Owl grocery store in Monticello. In 1956 they opened Holker's Drive-in Restaurant on the corner of the parking lot of their new and expanded grocery store. This was the first of what eventually became five (5) drive-in restaurants owned and operated by them and their family. Isabel was an avid fan and staunch supporter of Monticello High School Athletics and a loyal and dedicated follower of the Twins and the Vikings. She never forgave Denny Green for "taking the knee". Isabel was preceded in death by her parents Annie and Albert, her sole sibling, Martin C. Ostvig, her husband Richard, and her sons Richard and Thomas. She is survived by six (6) children, Robert (Karen) Holker of Orem, Utah, Joan (Wayne) Flygare of Orem, Utah, Kenneth (Paula) Holker of Maple Grove, Minnesota, David (Nikki) Holker of Orem, Utah, Deborah (Steve) (Deceased) Pace of Ramsey, Minnesota, Jack (Nancy) of Orem, Utah, and Vernice Holker wife of Thomas of Anoka, Minnesota. Additionally, Isabel is survived by thirty-three (33) grandchildren, sixty-five (65) great grandchildren and one (1) great, great grandchild. Isabel has been and remained a life long active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. peterson-grimsmochapel.com
