Roskam, Dorothea Lou Kinney "Dot" Age 79, of Edina, MN passed away March 29, 2015 Palm Sunday. Survived by her children: Catherine Shull (Mark), Chuck Roskam III (Ann), Mary Roskam (Joe Sausser), Jean Roskam (Rob Trembath), Annie O'Neil (Shawn); grandchildren: Siena, Mark & Mary Shull, Charles IV & Luke Roskam, Crystal Lang, Jack, Amelia & Tatiana Trembath; and great-grandson, Aiden Lang Dault. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lowell Charles "Chuck" "LC", and her parents, (Frank and Mary Grace (Sexton) Kinney), and her sisters, Mary Francis Sexton, Ann Marie (Robert) Wilson, Lois (Art) Hanson, Patricia Kinney, Jean (Arnold) Petersen, Evelyn (Don) Shriner and her brothers, Bob (MaryLou) Kinney, George (Patricia) Kinney and Franklin (Red) Kinney. Dorothea was the nurse, spiritual advisor and cheerleader of the family. She spent countless hours nurturing and attending her children and grandchildren's sports games, school events and celebrated the sacraments and mass with them. She prayed for us all daily and her loving spirit lives on in her family. Dorothea grew up in Sioux City, Iowa where she graduated from Heelan High School and Briar Cliff College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Dorothea was a member and treasurer of the Nurses Association of Iowa and the National Nurses Association. She worked as a Public Health Nurse and at St. Joseph Hospital. Dorothea was married to her sweetheart Chuck for 54 years. They spent several fun winters in Arizona golfing, traveling and hosting guests. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend, always welcoming the neighborhood kids and our friends over anytime. She coached and was on the Board of Directors for the Edina Girls Softball Association for several years. Dorothea was a volunteer school nurse at Our Lady of Grace School for 9 years. She volunteered for Meals on Wheel and many charities through church. Dorothea's hobbies were golf, softball, dancing, bridge, aerobics and travel. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She will be missed terribly and will be loved eternally by her family and friends. A Special Thank You to Dr. George Morrison for his fantastic medical expertise and caring bed side manner through her battle with heart disease and diabetes. Thanks to Nurse Kelly and Heather for their smiles and care.
