Weier On July 20, noted psychiatrist, Dr. Thomas E. Weier's graceful and inspirational battle with cancer ended at the age of 64. He is survived by his partner, Kee Paisansinsup; his daughter, Jeannie Sato, her husband, Rob and their children, Ripple, Piper and Grey of Anchorage, AK; his son, Charlie Weier, his wife, Amy and their children, Elliot and Caroline of St. Paul; Jeannie and Charlie's mother, Frances Arzt Weier; his sisters, Bobbie Johnson, Lucy Krystallis and Fran Haskins; former partner, Dave; dear friend, Greg Bauleke and his family; and Tom's fabulous Lake Pointe Condominium neighbors in Minneapolis. Tom began his more than 30-year medical career at the Mayo Clinic, spent a decade at St. Paul Ramsey and nearly 20 years at St. Mary's in Minneapolis, where he specialized in addiction and recovery. His final position was as medical director of the Pride Institute. Tom took great pride in living 29 years "one day at a time". Also grieving Tom's death are local Lexus and Mercedes dealers whose bottom line will be greatly affected by his passing. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wed. at 10:30 am at the Basilica of St. Mary, St. Joseph's Chapel, 88 N. 17th St. at Hennepin Av., Minneapolis. Visitation Tues., 6-9 pm at the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 7110 France Av. S., Edina. Memorials may be directed to the Tom Weier Scholarship Fund C/O Vidya.
