Houlton-Olson, Helen Irene age 89, resident of Bloomington, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 8, 2015. Preceded in death by her parents, Sam & Helen Houlton; husband, Randall E. Olson; second husband, Donald Drogue; brother, Kendall S. "Bud". Survived by children: Brenda Olson, Valerie (Alex) Orosz, Gregory (Kristin) Olson; grandsons, Andrew, Sam and Evan; granddaughter, Lauren. She loved all wildlife and was a long time member of the National Audubon Society. She fed and watched deer, grey and red fox, pheasants, wild turkey, countless song birds, woodpeckers and those fun little squirrels. She was a 2nd grade school teacher in the early 50's and loved to travel. Above all she was a loving, giving, happy, perfect mother, grandmother and friend. She will forever be in our hearts. We love you mom! Special thanks to the staff at The Summit in Eden Prairie where she received wonderful care. And Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital for their great hospice care. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to the National Audubon Society; 225 Varick St, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10014. A celebration of Irene's life will take place at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, Fireplace Room, 3675 Arboretum Way, Chaska on February 15, 2015 at 1:30 PM.
