Berg, William Edward 92, of Edina, Minnesota, passed away December 7, 2014. Bill was born on January 31, 1922, he was the son of Roy and Vera (Monahan) Berg. Loved and missed by his wife of 65 years, Betty; children, Linda Nathan, Teresa (Nathan) Jorgenson, Beth Smith; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Bill Berg was a man's man, and he exemplified "America's Greatest Generation". He grew up during the hard times of the Great Depression. He flew a B-25 Bomber for two years during WWII and served his country with pride. After the war he had a successful business career as a salesman for Caterpillar, and was a loving husband and father. Bill was a fine athlete and avid outdoorsman his whole lifehis picture hangs on the wall at Mariucci Arena where he was a member of the 1945-46 Minnesota Gopher's Hockey team. His robust personality, warm smile, and charming sense of humor will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. The family wishes to thank the many caring helpers at Jones-Harrison. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Bill's life on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 1:00 PM, at Jones-Harrison Residence, 3700 Cedar Lake Ave, Mpls, with a reception immediately following the service.
