Zimpfer Bernard G., born 11/9/17 died 5/12/02. Survived by wife, Marjorie (Midge), son Frank and wife Renee'; daughter Barbara Backberg and husband Dan; grandchildren Peter, Matthew and Zachary Zimpfer, and Samuel and Anna Elizabeth Backberg, and a niece and nephews. Preceded in death by brother, Harry G. Zimpfer of Mesa, AZ. Served in World War II for 5 years and was honorably discharged as a Captain, United States Air Force. He received degrees from the University of Minnesota and William Mitchell College of Law. Practiced law in Minneapolis for 48 years and co-founded the firm of LeVander, Zimpfer and Tierney. Concentrated on education law and represented the Robbinsdale Area, Brooklyn Center and Hennepin Technical School districts. He served as United States Magistrate from 1963 to 1973. He was an active member of Robbinsdale Masonic Lodge No 265, the Scottish Rite of Minneapolis, 33rd degree, and Zuhrah Shrine. For relaxation, he was an avid golfer, downhill skier, and long distance runner. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being ``up north''. Prefer memorials to the Scottish Rite Foundation or donor's choice. Memorial service will be Monday, May 20, 7 pm at the Scottish Rite Temple, 2011 Dupont Ave S, Mpls. 612-871-1500
