Benson, Joyce A. (Melbye) Passed away November 19, 2014 at the age of 75. Preceded in death by husband, Leroy Benson; parents, Harold & Mamie Melbye. Survived by children, Jeffrey (Tina Meckel) Benson of Mpls., Lorelei "Lorie" (Todd) Peterson of Eagan & Julie Lemieux of Eagan; grandchildren, Freya Benson, Morgan and Emily Peterson, Cassidy & Shayna Lemieux; brothers, Harland Melbye of Sparta, WI and Arnold Melbye of Janesville, WI. Joyce lived near Glen, MN from 1972-1981. She bought Malmo Market in Malmo, MN in 1981 and ran it successfully until 1988. She moved to Cambridge, MN for several years until her retirement in 2003. After that, she moved to Apple Valley, MN to be closer to her children. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 25th at 10 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 7800 W. County Rd. 42; Apple Valley with a luncheon immediately following. Visitation 5-8 PM Monday, Nov. 24th at Klecatsky & Sons Eagan Chapel, 1580 Century Pt., Eagan and also 1-hr. prior to the service at church. Interment will be at Malmo Cemetery in Malmo, MN.
