Baer, Lawrence Wade "Larry" age 71, died peacefully at his home surrounded by close family and friends on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, after a 2 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. He attended St. Thomas College in St. Paul, MN. Larry spent a good majority of his life in Chicago, IL where his love for the Chicago Bears and hockey grew. Larry spent most of his career working as a systems analyst/ accountant. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. In recent years, his love for hockey expanded as his grandson Alec advanced to play in the WHL. Larry never missed a game and watching him play always brought a smile to his face. Larry will be remembered for his quick wit, spirit of adventure and his caring and giving heart. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Baer; son, Robert (Alissa) Baer; daughters, Lisa Baer & Nicole Baer; grandchildren, Andrew, Jake, Alec and Chloe Baer; brother, Thomas Baer; sister, Nancy Rebitzer; former wife, Barbara Paul. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday, Oct. 28, with visitation beginning at 10 AM at the Church of St. Joan of Arc, 4537 3rd Ave S., Mpls. Following Mass, a reception will be held at church.
