Carroll Richard E., of St. Paul, age 66, on August 28, 2004. Preceded in death by parents, Daniel "Earl" and Claire Carroll, sister and brother-in-law, Claire and Richard Dopkins, and brother, C. Jerome Carroll. Survived by nephews, Michael, Mark, Steven and Greg Dopkins; other relatives and friends. Richard was extremely active in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a registered member of the Boy Scouts for 52 years, serving in many troop, district and council positions, and was a Silver Beaver Award recipient. He was also very active in the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society, where he received the National Order of the Arrow Distinguished Service Award in 1988. Richard was a long-time member, curator, and the current executive director of the North Star Museum of Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting. He provided outstanding leadership to the museum for the past 12 years. Memorial celebration on Sunday, September 26 at 4 PM at the BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater, with a reception to follow. Scout uniforms are appropriate attire for those who so choose. Memorials to North Star Museum of Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting, or Boy Scouts of America.
