Mauch, John Carl "Jack" age 89, of Deephaven, MN and Greenford, OH, passed away on Sept. 25, 2014. Born Sept. 7, 1925 in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of Louis J. and Flossie Coy Mauch. Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Beardsley Mauch; son, David Mauch; brothers, Bob (Marion) Mauch, Ken (Gladys) Mauch, and Dan (Rita) Mauch, and a baby sister. Survived by brother, Jim (Eileen) Mauch of Austintown, OH; daughter, Phyllis (Skip) Messenger of Deephaven, MN; grandchildren, Lindsay (Nils Weisensee) Messenger of Shanghai, China and Alex (Lacey) Messenger of Duluth, MN, and many nieces and nephews. A lover of people and the land, Jack made friends in every space he in-habited. He served the community as a farmer during WWII, as a fire-fighter and EMT for over 50 years in the Green Township Volunteer Fire Department, as an Elder in the Greenford Christian Church, as an officer in the Greenford and Dublin Granges, and as a window clerk in the Canfield, OH Post Office for over 30 years and bank custodian for the Farmers National Bank. Special thanks to the staffs of St. Luke Presbyterian Church, Frauenshuh Cancer Center, Methodist Hospice, and Presbyterian Homes Lake Minnetonka Shores. A celebration of Jack's life will take place at 2 pm on Friday, Oct. 3, 2014 at St. Luke Presbyterian Church, 3121 Groveland School Rd., Minnetonka, MN 55391 (952-473-7378).
