Hess, Luverne "Lovey" age 78, of South Haven. After many close calls and "cat with 9 lives jokes" through the years, the Iron man finally decided he no longer could fight and passed away on August 30, 2014 peacefully at home with family. He is no doubt fishing in heaven on a huge lake packed with Northerns and Wall-eyes and enjoying being able to see again those who preceded him in death including his parents, Claude and Rose; sister, Jeannette Ramler; brother, Floyd Hess; infant brother, LeRoy. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Michelle Hess, Lisa (Jon) Aldrich, Heidi (Mark) Haaland; famous ex-wife, Micki Hess; grandchildren, Alex, Sophia, Max; sib-lings, Delores (Hermie) Kampsen, Alyce Younkin, Allan (Lucy) Hess, Joan (Ron) Johnson, Dan (Joyce) Hess; god-daughter, Cindy Hess; nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Former owner of Uptown Auto in Mpls. Proud U.S. Army Ranger Paratrooper, he was an awesome Dad who taught us the importance of family and hard work. His strength inspired us daily. His quick wit and his infectious laugh is what we will miss the most. Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm (Noon) Friday, September 5 at St. Margaret Catholic Church, 23189 State Hwy 4, Lake Henry with visitation at church 1 hour before service. Thank you to the wonderful Doctors, Nurses and Hospice Staff at Methodist/Park Nicollet. There were many times Methodist felt like a second home to us and we thank you for being such gracious hosts! Special thanks to Lisa & Jon Aldrich for their wonderful care of Dad during these last 10 years and especially the last 6 months. He lived a longer, fuller life because of you. We love you Dad and thank you for everything. Please keep protecting us as you always have and we cannot wait to see you again. cremationsocietyofmn.com
