Breitenbucher, Lorraine Marie age 94, of Minneapolis, died the way she lived: with incredible grace and surrounded by the love of children, grandchildren, and friends. The first-born child of Arthur and Marie Hessburg was a steadfastly loyal sister to Catherine Twomey, Jean Hessburg and Arthur Hessburg. Her discipline and intellectual gifts earned her a bachelor's degree at the U of M where she later taught medical students in the lab. It was there that she won the admiration of Robert (Bob) Breitenbucher. Their 58 years of marriage were a lesson in devotion and yielded seven grateful children: James (Sandy) Breitenbucher, Thomas (Mary Cummings) Breitenbucher, Mary Breitenbucher, Jean Breitenbucher, Kathy (Russ) Landes, Joan (Mark) Kingseed and Annie (Nolan Zavoral) Breitenbucher. They were shepherded with profound love and, by example, given a strong-moral compass. She led three generations as grandmother of Renita, David, Amy, Daniel, Ada, Justin, Maria, Matthew, Zachary, Laura, and Dan and great grandmother to Siena, Madison, Annika, Kalista, and Anna. She is reunited now with Bobwhom she tended with great care until his death in 2004. In addition to her family, she is survived by countless friends, because she was an amazing friend. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, August 15, 5 PM at St. Joan of Arc gymnasium, 4537 3rd Ave. S., Minneapolis; visitation at 4 PM. Memorials preferred to St. John's University Peace Program, Collegeville, MN 56320 or St. Joan of Arc Ministries.
