Barry, David Francis age 86, of Wayzata, MN passed away on July 17, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary McDevitt Barry, his brothers Jim and Tom, and his sisters Marge, Teresa, Ellen and Catherine. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Doreen; his children MaryEllen, David (Kim), Steve (Sarah Alston) and Tom (Cheryl) Barry; grandchildren Rachel (Reid) Tuenge, Betsy, John and Hannah Brooks, Kristin (Gabor) Danko, Mikey, Ian, Erin and Cormac Barry; great-grandchild Alex Danko. Dave was born on February 24, 1928 in Eureka, California. He graduated from Eureka High School and proudly served his country in the US Army based in the Philippines. Upon his return he attended Golden Gate College in San Francisco, graduating with a Bachelors in Business Administration. In addition, he was an MVP during his collegiate basketball career. He moved from California to MN to begin his life-long career as a public accountant-business owner-entrepreneur. In MN he met and married Doreen Carlson during a February blizzard in Hallock, MN. They had 59 wonderful years together. He was a devoted spouse and caregiver. The beneficiaries of his boundless love were his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild, extended family and friends. He was especially proud of his Irish heritage and his Catholic faith. He will be deeply missed. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Wednesday at St Mary of the Lake Church, 105 N. Forestview Lane, Plymouth. Visitation Tuesday 5-7pm with a 7pm prayer service at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave No @ Vicksburg Lane and Wednesday at the church 1 hour before Mass. Int.
