Loving mother to Keith (Judy) Heinemann and Paula (Craig) Evanich. Devoted grandmother to Ron (Mary Burnsed) Heinemann, Stephanie Heinemann Stover, Rebecca (Kevin) Thompson, and Rachel (Craig) Popken. Adored by six great-grandchildren Patricia and Rhett Heinemann; Colton, Willow and Weston Thompson; and Nora Popken. Preceded in death by her parents and brothers Yachtman, Norman, Robert and Wallace Sue. After having lived in Milwaukee for 80 years, she and Conrad spent the past 10 years at Presbyterian Homes SummerWood of Chanhassen. Gladys lived life well. She opened her home and her heart to many and exuded a warmth that made her a delight to be around. Her favorite past times were sharing food, playing cards, rooting for the Packers and being with her family. She always carried three things - butterscotch candies, an overflowing change purse and pictures of her grandkids. Gladys believed in God, had pride in her country, sent hand-written cards and wore panty hose daily. She made excellent scotcharoos, told great stories (the most famous of which involves sauerkraut) and enjoyed a good Bloody Mary. Gladys was a loving, kind-hearted and generous wife with great firmness in her Christian values that led her husband to experience the love of Christ. She was a dedicated mother that worked to provide her children a good life and a strong moral compass and through whom she was able to enjoy being 'Granny' to her grand and great-grandchildren. Her presence will be missed but her spirit and her impact will live on through the many people who were loved by and loved her. A Celebration of Gladys' Life will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 301 County Road 19, Excelsior on Saturday, December 30 at 11 a.m. Reviewal 1 hour before. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Gladys Heinemann to Presbyterian Homes Foundation 2845 Hamline Avenue North, Roseville, MN 55112 or Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
