Bergherr, Terry Lynn Age 68, passed away peacefully July 24 at her home in Portland, OR. Before moving to Portland in 1978, Terry lived in Mpls., MN. She graduated from Mntk HS in 1967 and received her RN degree in OR in 1984. Terry was employed by Multomah Co. for 28 years as an APS (Adult Protective Services) nurse. At a cel-ebration of her life in Portland, her friends and medical colleagues shared stories illustrating her expertise, dedication, compassion, courage and willingness to search for solutions to complex situations. Her extended caring and thought-fulness for her patients and others were illustrated through her unique personal gifts, writings, or poems. Unbeknown to some, she was a prolific introspective writer and an artist working with a variety of media, creating semi-abstract to realistic art and producing graphic art for a local newspaper. She played the guitar when younger, enjoyed photography, kayaking, plays, concerts and never missed a performance by her favorite band, the Hit Machine! Her devoted cats and German Shepherd companions had their reserved places on her couch. As a teenager, she rode Tammy, her beloved horse, in the pasture by their home. Otters, wolves elephants, and even ladybugs fascinated her; she could not watch shows if animals were in danger. She loved to travel and had plans to retire in October to fulfill her travel bucket list. Terry is survived by her son Jeff Strube (Annette Goecks Strube); granddaughter Olivia Strube; Kyle Goecks; sisters Barbara Martin and Linda Bergherr; nephews Michael Anderson (Lori Dewender), Jeff Anderson (Sandi McArthur); niece Paula Anderson; great nephew Jackson Anderson, Aunts Rose Bergherr and Ruby White and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Norma and Howard Bergherr, and recently her uncle, Robert Bergherr. A celebration of her life will be Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Colonial Church, 6200 Colonial Way, Edina 55436 at 1 pm. Memorial donations preferred to ASPCA, Animal Humane Society or favorite charities.
