Horberg, Richard O. 91. Raised in North Mpls under hard circumstances, with no mother and an absentee father. Saved by the kindness of strangers, kinship with his brother Bob, and the devotion of their Uncle Al. Happily served in Philippines at the end of WWII. PhD in American Studies, U of MN, 1968. Esteemed professor/teacher/student advocate in the formerly named Rhetoric Dept on the St. Paul Campus for 30+ years. Preceded by beloved wife Julia and daughter Beth. Survived by children, Paul, John, and Shelley, and granddaughter, Kirsten. Unfulfilled author of many novels. No service immediately planned.
