Anderson, Harriet A. Age 90 of Columbia Heights passed away November 26, 2017 at NC Little Hospice in Edina with her husband at her side. She was born September 27, 1927 to Dr. Lawrence and Belvina Hadley of Ruthven, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Arthur and infant son. She is survived by her husband John Forrest; son Bruce Anderson (Kimberly) of Coon Rapids, MN; daughter Heidi Anderson (Daniel) of Brookfield, WI; grandchildren Timothy James, Madelyn and Evelyn Anderson. Harriet was born and raised in Ruthven, IA. From there she went on to further her education at St. Olaf College, graduating both from Fairview School of Nursing and U of M. A caring and giving soul, she was dedicated to others through her nursing career, homemaking, loving mother and in numerous volunteer activities including many years as a Girl Scout leader and support for Plymouth Christian Youth Center. Throughout her life Harriet was an avid sportswoman, raising and showing horses, playing basketball, various water and winter sports, especially skiing. She loved adventures, such as canoeing and camping in the BWCA and traveled four continents, including five van camping trips to Alaska. Funeral service to be held at First Lutheran Church of Columbia Heights, 1555 40th Ave. N.E., Columbia Heights at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 1 with visitation one hour prior to service.
