McGovern, Robert William "Bob" born June 1, 1941 and passed away peacefully on November 21, 2017 at the age of 76. Bob is survived by his wife and soulmate, Dawn; beloved and devoted sons, Timothy (Jeannie) and Daniel (Marney); treasured grandchildren, Matthew, Nora and Gage; loving sisters, Florence Quinn and Barbara Mahigan; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by many good friends, great neighbors, and his SCORE and State Fair friends. He is preceded in death by parents, William and Mary; sisters, Janet and Pat; brother, Tom; godson, Joe; and niece, Lisa. He graduated from the University of MN, was proud to have served in the U.S. Coast Guard, earned his CPA in New York while working for Price Waterhouse and Company. He spent many years working with Gold Medallion Nursing Homes, which was probably his favorite work. He loved time with his family, travel, the water, good books, and the Vikings. Thank you to Dr. Meyers and Dr. Schousboe for their care through the years, and to caregivers Tenzin from Methodist and James from Villa. You were all so good to Bob. Memorials preferred to the Lupus Foundation, MN Heart Association, or to the family for a future memorial. A visitation will be held at Huber Funeral Home, 16394 Glory Ln, Eden Prairie, on Thursday, Nov. 30 from 5-7pm and 1hr prior to service on Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Dec. 1 at Pax Christi Church, 12100 Pioneer Trail, at 11:00am. Interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery immediately following service.
