Opheim, Edwin Orlin of Sequim, WA. Born May 29, 1927 died September 11, 2017 in Port Angeles, Washington. A man of passion for his family, friends and vocation. An advocate for the Disabled community. Preceded in death by parents Ferdinand and Rhoda, brothers Ralph, Lloyd, Erwin and Harold. Edwin grew up in Cyrus, Minnesota youngest of five boys. He joined the Navy at 18 serving 4 years. He graduated from St. Olaf College in 1953. Three years later he began work with the State of Minnesota, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. After a distinguished career Ed retired as the State Administrator of the program in 1986. He moved to Sequim, Washington in 1987 to work for the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services retiring in 2002.Survived by wife Dorothea, 5 children, 12 grandchildren and many friends. Memorial Service November 25, 11am, at First Lutheran Church, 1555 40th Ave NE, Columbia Heights, MN 55421. Visitation at 10am.
