Bergquist, Raymond A. Age 89, of Edina MN, formerly of Minneapolis, passed away on October 29, 2017 surrounded by family. Preceded in death by parents Axel and Viola (Hitchcock), wife Marion (Anderson); brothers Kenneth and Ernie; sisters Edith and Carol. Survived by sons Steven (Carolyn), Tom (Rickie), David (Roxy), Bob (Judy); and daughter Laura Regan (Peter). Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Ray was born in Bismarck, ND and later moved to Grove City where he met his wife Marion. While serving in the Marines, Ray married Marion in California while on leave. Ray and Marion raised their family in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis before moving to Edina. Ray was veteran of the Korean war, a member of the sheet metal workers union, and was an active Mason in the Scottish Rite. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as spending time with family and friends. Ray was well liked by all who met him and was known for having a strong character and an easygoing, lighthearted attitude. Please join us to celebrate Ray's life Monday, November 20th, 3 PM at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S, Minneapolis with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Snacks and refreshments will follow the service. Memorials preferred to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
