Worel, Sunny Lynn age 46, of Minneapolis, passed away on July 1, 2014 after a 2+ year fierce fight against colon cancer. With Sunny's many years of working independently as a medical librarian, she was proficient at compiling and organizing clinical research data on colon cancer which she used to find treatment and clinical trials for herself and her fellow cancer friends. She spent years of her life researching her great aunt Sammy who died tragically in the early 30's. Through this work she became passionately interested in anything vintage, old movies, art deco and all pertaining to that era. Her research on a book about Sammy was completed, but cancer inter-rupted the writing of this book. Sunny was super smart, beautiful, strong willed, fiercely independent, funny and lived life on her own terms. She was an original. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Evelyn Worel, Dr. Samuel & Hilda Samuelson. She will be deeply missed by parents, Jack and Jan Worel; brother, Ben Worel (Linda); nieces, Anna Lou and Greta Lou Worel; loyal companion, Truman; many relatives and good friends. Celebration of Life 1pm-4pm Sunday, July 13th at her home (763-607-6098). Memorials preferred to coloncancercoalition.org/… cremationsocietyofmn.com
