Gregory Gears

Gears, Gregory Greg Gears passed away at age 70 in his sleep after a long struggle with COPD. Greg was preceded in death by his older brother Gary and parents, Mary Kotz and Wallace Gears. He is survived by his loving wife, Letty; daughter, Jessica (Jack) Senese; son, Adam (Amber); grandchildren, Olivia, Jackie, and Gray Senese and Stella Gears; brother, Cris (Donna); stepmother, Donna Gears and stepbrother, Greg (Bitsy) Hagglund; nephews, Mike (Lisa) Gears, Jeff (Michele) Gears, Jon (Katie) Gilbert, Josh (Tiffanie) Gilbert and niece, Jaime (Tor) Blackstad. Greg lived a remarkable life beginning his career first as a disc jockey, and then seguing into full time work as a commercial voice talent. He enjoyed every aspect of the "sound" business, building professional sound studios in each of his homes, where in addition to producing commercials, he recorded music and lyrics for commercial jingles. Later as Greg's disease progressed, he turned an avocation for all things computer into work providing technical support on internet security to large corporations. His kindness, humor, generosity and wit will be missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Greg's Life will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 1:30PM at 9165 Toledo Rd. in Bloomington. The family asks that all donations be made to the charity of donor's choice.
