Gibas, Gertrude C. The last surviving child of John and Mary Czech went Home to the Lord October 18, 2017 at age 100. Preceded in death by husband, Joseph (1996); grandson, Matthew Benkoske; granddaughter, Angela Gibas; eight brothers, Frank, Thomas, Joseph, Theodore, Simon, John, Stanley and Sylvester; five sisters, Agnes, Rose, Pauline, Clara and Loretta. Gertrude was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who deeply loved her family. Faith was her foundation with a delightfully sweet, positive and complimentary personality. She truly enjoyed nature's beauty, gardening and cooking. Survived by children, Mary Jane (Thomas) Benkoske, Judy Gibas, John (Kim) Gibas, Thomas (Debra) Gibas; 8 grandchildren, Sarah (Kevin) Hackler, TJ (Claire) Benkoske, Joey (Kate) Gibas, Shanna (Ben) Graden, Johnny Gibas, Jake Gibas, Gregory and Diane Gibas; great-grandchildren, Maeve, Ben and Evelyn Hackler, Sadie and Jack Gibas; brother-in-law, Eddy (Betty) Gibas; sister-in-law, Helen Ziegler; many nieces and nephews and friends. Visitation 9-10:30 AM Friday, October 27 at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 N. 37th Ave. with Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, at the Church of St. Anne, 200 Hamel Road in Hamel with luncheon to follow. Interment Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope. Instead of flowers, memorials preferred.
