McNamara, Patricia Age 84, of Edina and Friendship Village, a loving mother, grandmother, and devoted friend, went to heaven on October 20, 2017. She was a faith-filled lady who inspired those around her, surrounding family and friends with love, support, and care, making life special for loved ones and friends. In heaven, she is re-united with her loving husband, Robert, and parents Louis and Emma Pope. She leaves behind a family who will miss her terribly, but who have a lifetime of memories of her loving presence: three sons, Brent (Danita), Brad (Amy), Blair (Michelle) and brother Jeff Pope (Suzanne.) Grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, are Meghan Roberts (AJ), Blake, Mollie, Brandon, Jack, Grant, Ryan & Mia. Pat attended nurse's training at Wesley Memorial Hospital in Chicago, where she received her RN degree. Afterwards she worked as a Courier Nurse on the Santa Fe Railway, traveling between Chicago and the West Coast. Later in life, she became a successful realtor with Edina Realty. She was active in Colonial Church, the Resident Council at Friendship Village, and the Good Sam Singers. Despite this busy life, she rarely missed friends' gatherings or a son/grandchild's special event. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to either Minneapolis Young Life (P.O. Box 390546, Minneapolis, MN 55439) or Youth Frontiers (6009 Excelsior Boulevard, Minneapolis, MN 55416.) Memorial service will be Thursday, November 9, at 1:30pm at Colonial Church, 6200 Colonial Way, Edina.
