John Arthur Schoen

Schoen, John Arthur Age 90, died September 21, 2017. Survived by loving wife of 68 years, Virginia; children, Lynda (Robert) Axberg, Carol Schoen (Greg Colby) and Jeffrey (Pamela) Schoen; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. John was a school superintendent in Minnesota at Echo, Le Center, Slayton, Aurora-Hoyt Lakes, Winthrop\GFW and Silver Lake from 1956-1989. He was in the navy in WWII and an active member in his church, later in Kiwanis, American legion, VFW, Masonic Lodge, worked with the Guard and Reserve, and organized and ran Elder Hostels. As a loyal Gopher fan, John was a football season ticket holder and sang tenor in the UofM Chorus. He is remembered for his kind nature and sense of humor. Memorial Service 2:00pm, Wednesday, September 27th, 2017 at Mount Olivet Church, 5025 Knox Ave. S, Mpls. Private Interment Fort Snelling.
