Standing, Charles Nicholas died peacefully at his home in Bell, California where he lived for twenty two years. He was born in Minneapolis and lived there most of his life, graduating from Washburn high school in 1961 and, the University of Minnesota with a BS and PHD in Chemical Engineering. He worked in the food industry most of his career. He had a passion for flowers and trees and worked with the communities where he resided to improve their growth, and especially, to save the trees. His parents Harry J. Standing and Lois Quady Peterson proceeded him in death. He is survived by his former wife and friend Kathleen Bianchi Standing, their daughter Maria and her husband Javier Perez, and two grandsons Carlos and Luis Perez all of Minneapolis. He is also survived by his brother Thomas Harry Standing of San Francisco and his sister Sally Clark of Denver and three nephews David, Matthew, and Gary Clark, and three great nephews and one great niece. On Saturday, September 30, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial in the Lakewood Memorial Chapel , 3600 Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis at 10 am with visitation one hour before. Presider will be Fr. Joe Gillespie; the Basilica Mundus Choir will lead the music of the mass. Burial of Ashes and a Brunch will immediately follow the mass. Memorials preferred: NPH USA or, the Basilica of St Mary.
