Theresa Ella 'Taffy' Hirtz

Hirtz, Theresa Ella "Taffy" age 64 of Eden Prairie passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer Sept. l8, 2017. Taffy was a beautiful, loving wife , and wonderful mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louella "Lou" and Glenn Smith. Taffy is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Steve; children, Damian (Cristina) Hirtz, Alison (Dave) Wirth, Ashley (Terry) McPartlin; grandchildren, Brennan Hirtz, Behren Hirtz; Lyla Wirth, Franklin Wirth and Isabel Theresa Hirtz; sister Debbie (Tim) Koehl, brother and sister in law Tom and Joanne Hirtz along with many other loving family members and friends. Taffy was one of a kind. She possessed a quick smile, tremendous sense of humor and a true love for life. Taffy was taken from us unexpectedly and far too quickly by cancer. In her short battle she kept her positive outlook and smile telling all who would ask "I'll be fine" up until the end. She was a lover of music, crossword puzzles, dogs, a good party, and most importantly her family and friends. A Minneapolis native, Steve and Taffy began dating while in their teens and were inseparable for their 45yrs of marriage. Taffy enjoyed her home, tending to her garden and flowers, and having a glass of wine with family or friends and talking for hours about anything and everything. As a member of Olympic Hills Golf Club, golf was always secondary to enjoying her relationship with her friends and having a good time. Taffy will leave behind a legacy of happiness with everyone she touched. Her children and grandchildren will carry on her outlook on life and living it to its fullest. Taffy had the rare ability to make everyone she encountered feel loved and like family, She may be gone, but the love and laughter she leaves behind will live forever. "All you need is love, love.
