Ekelund, Carol Louise (Larson) Carol, age 83, passed away quickly on September 6th 2017. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard Ekelund; brother, Morgan Larson; daughter Laurie Enright; son John (Julie) Ekelund; and grandchildrenCaitlin and Kelsey Enright; and Brooke, Connor (Kim) and Blake Ekelund. She is a graduate of Hopkins High School and the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. Carol was active in the choir, book club, tennis and golf. She had many happy memories with family at Bay Lake. As a nurse, she was a gifted caregiver working at Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Golden Valley for 30 years. Always the friend to all, she will be greatly missed. A gathering will be held on Thursday, September 21 at 10 am followed by a memorial at 11 am at Valley of Peace Lutheran Church: 4735 Bassett Creek Dr, Golden Valley MN 55422. Luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Valley of Peace Lutheran Church.
