Burzynski, Casimir John (Cash) age 89, New Brighton, MN, died peacefully on Sept. 11, 2017, on the day he and his loving wife, Kay, celebrated their 25th wedding anni versary. Born in Poland, forced into slave labor at Dachau concentration camp before being moved to work in a German hospital, he survived WWII, served honorably in the U. S. Army, married his first wife, proudly became an American citizen, and welcomed four children into the world. After serving his country, Cash joined a small lumber yard and garage building business which became a major home construction company where he was responsible for operations for 20+ years. When the company was acquired by a Fortune 1000 corporation, Cash became President of one of its divisions. Upon his first wife's death, he retired at 61 and was able to enjoy many more adventures, including marrying Kay, volunteering as a Better Business Bureau and county court mediator, serving in the International Executive Service Corps (IESC), traveling with Kay to several countries including Bulgaria, Ukraine and Poland, and enjoying many outings with dear friends and family. Preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine (nee Kuehn), his parents Agata and Walter, his sisters Frances, Cecile and Irene, and his brother, Stanley. In addition to his wife Kay, Cash is survived by his children, Susan Burzynski, Cecile (Phil) Sogge, Paul (Darcy) Burzynski and Julie (Steve) Frankowiak, by his grandchildren, John (Anne Griffin) Burzynski, Katie (Nick) Breaux, Lucas Sogge, and Jason (Jessica) Frankowiak and their son, Anthony, and by nieces and nephews. He also shared a special bond with Kay's children, Steve (Dolores) Varichak, Renee (Curt) Johnson, and Mike (Nancy) Varichak and their wonderful children and grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 4030 Jackson Street NE, Columbia Heights, MN on Friday, September 15th at 10AM, with visitation prior to the service at 9AM. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Immaculate Conception Catholic School.
