Carlson, Douglas Richard Age 65. He died Tuesday, August 29th after a heroic fight with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by brother Jim (Meredith) Carlson and many loving cousins, nephews, and grand nephews. Doug graduated from the University of Minnesota. He was an Account Executive for Ideal System Solutions. Doug devoted his life in service to the Sigma Chi International Fraternity. He served as Grand Historian from 1981 to 1999, and 62nd Grand Consul from 2001 to 2003. Through his involvement in the fraternity, he mentored thousands of other men by helping them connect their personal principles to the ideals that bind them together with a common purpose. He became renowned for his remarkable intellect, natural ability to teach, and his genuine care for every Sigma Chi he ever met. Doug held key roles in the Marcy Holmes Neighborhood Association and the University District Alliance. The memorial service will be held at House of Hope Presbyterian Church, 770 Summit Ave. St. Paul on Monday, Oct. 9, at 1:00 PM. A Sigma Chi memorial service and White Rose Ceremony will be announced at sigmachi.org/carlson.
