VanSchoick, Jeffrey R. After living fully and bravely with pancreatic cancer for nearly four years, Jeff passed away peacefully at home on Saturday evening, August 26, 2017 in the presence of his wife Lori and family. Jeffrey Ritter was born July 18, 1948 in Rahway, NJ to Anne and Harold VanSchoick. He graduated from Roselle Park High School in 1966, then moved to MN to attend college at Hamline University, graduating in 1970. He met the love of his life, Lori Berg and they were married on January 16, 1988. He spent most of his career in the hospitality industry working in sales and management positions for Johnson Brothers, Brown-Forman, and most recently Pabst Brewing Company until his retirement. In 2002, Jeff received the MN Licensed Beverage Association's Hall of Fame Award. He was a member of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation & Building Conservancy and the MN Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians. Jeff loved the arts, all music, theater, film, and architecture. He was a voracious reader, history buff, and always enjoyed a spirited conversation on politics. He had a love for traveling, watching baseball, and old movies. Jeff was happiest spending time at the cabin entertaining family and friends, driving his boat, and relaxing in his hammock. He is survived by his wife, Lori Berg; sisters-in-law Marilee (Rick) Newman, Terri (Joel) Mathiowetz, Linda (Michael) Kelly, Jill (Scott) Brandel, Bobbi Jo Berg (Tim Arnsdorf), Katie (Jason) Pfarr; father-in-law, Gary (Joyce) Berg; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Memorial Service on Thursday, August 31, 2 pm at Lakewood Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Mpls. Arrangements with Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel.
