Fistere, Howard Courtney Jr. Age 84, of Wayzata. Howard was born June 30, 1933 in New Rochelle, NY to Howard C. Fistere Sr. and Bertha Mae Gilbert Fistere, and he peacefully passed away in his sleep at home on Monday, August 14, 2017. He graduated from high school in Wallingford, CT and then from New Haven State Teacher's College, where he proudly played on an undefeated football team. After serving in the US Army, he relocated to Minneapolis to start his career, the last 20 years of which were enthusiastically spent with Royal Purple. He lived nearly 50 years in Plymouth in his beloved Lost Lake neighborhood and was known to freely lend a helping hand or provide passionate football commentary. He survived a debilitating stroke three years ago and was warmly and patiently embraced by the Folkestone community, for whom we are grateful. In his final rest, may he regain his voice, be the person he wanted to be, and find peace. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, C. Gilbert Fistere. Survived by son, Tom (Pam) Fistere; daughter, Patty Schmidt; sisters, Mrs. Robert (Bettie) Roche and Jeanne Fistere; grandchildren, Katie, Matthew, Ben and Nick; and former wife, Linda Fistere.
