Douglas V. Pool

Pool, Douglas V. age 72, of Apple Valley passed away peacefully on July 24, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Doug was born on the family farm near Chandler, MN, on January 3, 1945, to Dan and Vera Mapes Pool. He attended school in Chandler and graduated from Mankato State University. Doug was a CPA and spent the majority of his working life at Piper Jaffray in Minneapolis. He served as treasurer for many years at Peace Reformed Church in Eagan and participated in mission trips to Hondurus, Virginia, Texas, Mississippi and Iowa mainly doing construction work. Doug loved spending summers at their cabin on Thunder Lake near Longville, MN. There was nothing he enjoyed more than a boat ride on the lake with friends and family or playing with his grandchildren. He and Arlyss also enjoyed traveling around the United States and abroad. Doug is survived by his wife of 50 years, Arlyss; daughters, Michelle Pool and Kerri (Kevin) Foss; grandchildren, Madelin Pool and Joran and Esten Foss; great-granddaughters, Lily and Aria. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 29, 2017, at 11 am at Peace Reformed Church, 2180 Glory Dr. Eagan, MN, with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. Another memorial service will take place on Monday, July 31 at 1:30 pm at Chandler Community Center followed by interment at Chandler Memorial Cemetery in Chandler, MN.
