Brett, John A. age 73 of Burnsville passed away on July 23, 2017. John is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Elaine; children, Anne Marie Long (Jimmy) of Henderson, NV, Alexis Brett, Las Vegas, NV, John "Jay" A. Brett, Jr, Pasadena, CA; stepchildren, Donna Zelinsky (Karin), Bemidji, MN, Ronald "Butch" Zelinsky, Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren, Logan Zelinsky, Marina Bacon, Mitchell Long, Luca Irace and Adam Long. John was born October 29, 1943, in Watertown, New York and was predeceased by his parents, Attorney Kenneth W. Brett and Mary (Tooley) Brett. John graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy in 1961. He earned his B.S. from the University of Buffalo in Labor Relations in 1965. John was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. The majority of his career was spent in management with Anchor Hocking Corp. and Plastics, Inc. in New Jersey, Ohio and Minnesota. A funeral mass will be held at Mary Mother of the Church, July 28, 2017, at 11 am. 3333 Cliff Rd., Burnsville. Visitation one hour prior. Interment Fort Snelling Cemetery.
