Patricia Elizabeth (Costello) Hermes

Hermes, Patricia Elizabeth (Costello) age 85, passed away July 24, 2017. Patricia (Pat) is preceded in death by her parents, Patrick Edward and Vera Costello. Pat was born on August 1st, 1931 in Wabasha, MN, raised in St Paul, MN and graduated from the College of St. Catherine with a degree in Library Science. Pat is survived by loving husband of 62 years, Clair F. Hermes, their seven children: Mary Regenscheid (Joseph), Margaret Muller (Joseph), Joseph Hermes (Sherri Juell), Anne Edberg (Keith), Catherine Meyer (Brian), Frank Hermes (Sharon Ward Hermes), and Anthony Hermes (Lynell Whited), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Jim Ritzer, many nieces and nephews. Pat worked for many years in various elementary schools as a Librarian in the Osseo School District. Pat and Clair enjoyed an early and long retirement, spending summers at their beloved Ham Lake cabin in Nevis, MN and their winters in lovely locations in Florida. Pat was known to her family and friends as a kind, sweet woman and a natural born caretaker. We miss her dearly, but are grateful she is at peace in God's grace now. We would like to extend our sincere thanks for the loving care she received during her last years in Memory Care at Lilydale Senior Living. A memorial service with immediate family has already taken place. Pat has donated her body to the Anatomy Bequest Program at the University of Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Alzheimer's Research.
