Ekwall, Roy passed away on July 14, 2017. A proud Wyoming native, he was born in Sheridan, WY on September 8, 1931. Roy served in the Army during the Korean war, was a longtime member of the Big Horn Mountain Eagles which included serving as State President, belonged to the American Legion, VFW and Elks. Roy was a jack of all trades and a master at working with his hands. For many years he decorated cakes, a true artist at that craft. He loved the mountains, was an avid hunter, Denver Broncos fan, bowler and dart player. Roy lived a simple life that he loved, he enjoyed helping others and being involved in his community. He was a great man who loved life and his family. He will be truly missed. Roy is preceded in death by his wife Charlotte Ekwall; son Michael (Mickey) Ekwall; and three brothers, Raymond Ekwall, Robert Ekwall and George Ekwall. He is survived by his daughter, Rose Heaton (Wayne) of Utah; son Duane Ekwall of Wyoming; son Robert Ekwall of New Mexico; son Steve Ekwall (DeeAnn) of Kansas; and daughter Kathy Ekwall (Jamie Bistram) of Minnesota; sister Eileen (Mickie) Fowler of Nevada; brother-in-law Robert Bergman of Wisconsin; sister-in-law Jacquie Bergman of Minnesota; many nieces and nephews; and too many grandchildren and great grandchildren to name. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Big Horn Mountain Eagles in Sheridan, WY on September 9, 2017. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in Roy's name.
