Elwell, Thomas D. age 81 of Coon Rapids, formerly Fridley, MN, died peacefully on June 22, 2017, after a short courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joanne; daughter, Therese (Lochi) Munasinghe; sons, Steven, John (Coreen), Mike (Gina), Mark Elwell; grandchildren, Stephen, Shane, Kevin, Steven, Thomas, Nichole, Parker, Chase, Jacob and Alec; great-grandchildren, Leyla and Quinn; sister, Maria Cahill; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Virgil) Brenny; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation Sunday, June 25, 2-5 PM with prayer service at 4 PM at Billman Hunt Funeral Chapel, 2701 Central Ave NE, Mpls, MN 55418. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, June 26, 11 AM with visitation 10 AM at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 707 89th Ave NE, Blaine. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Meals on Wheels.
