Johnson, Dale Thomas 82, of Edina, passed away on Tuesday,, June 20, 2017. A lifelong resident of Mpls, Dale is preceded in death by parents, Kenneth and Viola Johnson and parents-in-law, Rudy and Doris Monson of Forest City, IA. Dale studied engineering at the University of MN and went on to spend his entire career of 45 years in various management positions at Thermo King Corporation. In his work and in his life, Dale was a brilliant leader, mentor and friend; admired, respected and loved by all who came his way. He was a life-long learner with an unstoppable Zest for Life! He enjoyed photography, scuba diving, biking, cross-word puzzles, reading, hunting, world travel and "discussions" with his lifelong friends, best buddies and family. Dale and family enjoyed his beloved cabin "Walden Woods" near Willow River, MN. Favorite activities included feeding the deer, an occasional bear, bird watching, riding the trails, deer hunting, fire-pit chats and time with his many beloved North Country friends and neighbors. Dale is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ardie, his children David, Vicki (Chris), Jeff (Rita), Brian (Amy), Brad (Judy) and Greg (Mary), as well as five grandchildren Lucas, Maia, Franklin, Brody and Avery, along with brother Bruce (Virginia) Johnson, sister Margo (Gary) Gisselman and many nieces, nephews and countless friends who will miss him incredibly.
