Anderson, Emily Ann (Hagen) peacefully left this earth on June 16. She was born on June 11, 1939, in Manitowoc, Wisc. to Dorothy (Erickson) Hagen and Bernhard C. Hagen, She graduated from St. Olaf College in 1961. She embraced life to the very end, listened to music at full volume, was an artist who looked for and created beauty everywhere as well as being a world traveler, an amazing mother to many, a woman of spirituality and faith, a fantastic cook, an incessant seasonal decorator, a strikingly beautiful woman, an expert at retail therapy, generous with love with a rapacious wit who made the art of friendship her most magnificent work of all. Emily is survived by daughters: Christa Anders (Tom MacLeod), Maren Anderson (Michael Bingham) and Siri Anderson (Rob Nelson), six grandchildren whom she adored: Soren, Kaj, Lachlan, Kaja, Solveig and Per, a brother: Charles Hagen, a niece and nephew, and numerous cousins and beloved friends. A celebration of her life will be held June 24 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 8600 Fremont Av. S. in Bloomington. 10 a.m. visitation and 11 a.m. service, followed by, as she requested, a nice Lutheran lunch. Memorials may be directed to St. Olaf College, Holden Village, or Christ the King. She will be sorely missed.
