Simoneau, Wayne A. age 82, of Blaine, passed away May 21, 2017. Born in raised in Washburn, WI. Preceded in death by parents, Helen and Rex and baby brother, Joseph. Survived by loving wife of 58 years, Jane; children Lisa Simoneau, Laura (Samil) Sengil, Tony (Angie) Simoneau, Paul (Lisa Diane) Simoneau, Matt (Nancy) Simoneau, and Leslie Simoneau; grandchildren Blake, Lindsey (Peter), Bailey, Julide, Max (Cassie), Alec, Ruby, Andrew, and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Shelby, Gracie, and Chloe Jane. Wayne was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. Wayne was a graduate of Dunwoody Inst. and life long learner. He was a mechanic for many years and a dedicated public servant. Wayne served MN as a State Representative for 20 years, served local government as an auditor, and served in the National Guard. Governor Carlson appointed Wayne as a DOER Deputy Commissioner in 1995 and Commissioner in 1996. He was appointed Commissioner of Department of Finance in 1996. Special thanks to the wonderful team of nurses and doctors in the ICU at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
