Degnan, Maureen Patricia (nee McCanna) On Saturday June 21, 2014 Maureen Degnan, passed away at the age of 66 years. Maureen was born in Chicago, IL, but was raised and lived in Minnesota almost her entire life. She briefly lived in Seattle, Washington shortly after getting married. Maureen attended St. Rich-ard's Catholic School through the 8th grade. She attended high school at Holy, Angels Academy, graduating in 1966. She attended the University of Minnesota, gra-duating in 1970 with a Bachelors of Science degree. Maureen was a life long member of Kappa Delta Sorority. As an undergraduate she served as Vice President of the U of M Chapter. She also served as the President of the MN Alumnae Chapter. She served as a National Officer for three years working for the alumnae chapters in five states. Maureen was an active member of Pax Christi Catholic Church where she served as a member of the Churches Administrative Council for three years and was also the scheduler for all 6 ministries. She was currently a member of St. Patrick's in Edina, MN. Maureen worked for the Edina School District since 1989 as an Administrative Assistant. In addition, she served as the President of the Edina Professional Association of Support Staff in the Edina Schools. Maureen will be lovingly remembered by her parents, John McCanna and Virginia McCanna (nee Blake); her children, John Degnan (Terry), Amy Schaefer (Joel), David Degnan (Pamela); her siblings, John McCanna (Mary), Tom McCanna (Jeanne), and Susan Cucchiarella (Mike), and her 7 grandchildren, Dawson, Jack, Grace, Julia, Ellen, William, and Robbie. Maureen will also be forever remembered by her nieces, nephews her extended family and dear friends. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 25th from 5-8 pm at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 9947 Lyndale Ave., S. Bloomington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of St. Patrick, 6820 St. Patrick's Lane, Edina, MN on Thursday, June 26th at 11:00 am with visitation begin-ning at 10 am.
