Smith, Marlys A. (Clausen) age 75 of New Prague (formerly of Chaska) MN was welcomed into the faithful arms of Jesus on April 20 while surrounded by her loving family. There, to welcome her into heaven, were her father and mother, Robert and Margret Clausen, sister and brother in law, Verda and Jim Lowe, her infant brother, Leland Clausen and husband Dennis Smith. Marlys is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Lisa) Gammon and Dale (Caroline) Gammon; grandchildren Andrew and Samantha Gammon and TJ Gammon; brother Gareth (Marcia) Clausen; sister Karen (Bruce) Carlson and many nieces, nephews - grand and great, along with countless friends. Marlys was born February 28, 1942 in Webster SD and spent her childhood in Aberdeen, SD. She moved to the Twin Cities after graduation where she spent the majority of her life raising a family, working in clerical, serving her church and later enjoying her grandbabies and working in the local schools. Marlys lives on in the many lives she touched with her gentle spirit and caring ways. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Living Christ Lutheran Church, 820 Lake Dr. Chanhassen on May 6 at 11:30 with a lunch to follow. A private internment will take place at a later date. Memorials preferred to Living Christ Lutheran Church where she was faithfully involved for over 35 years.
