Nelson, Andrea L. age 53, of Minneapolis, passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2017. Andrea was born in Minneapolis on January 17, 1964. She earned a bachelor's degree from St. Olaf College, and a master's degree in Special Education from Winona State University. Andrea was a special education professional for over 20 years, teaching in Alaska before moving back to Minnesota and the Hopkins school district. She loved her "kids" and approached each student with dedication, enthusiasm and creativity. To her friends in the local music world she was "Stella Blue" - a "hippie chick" with a big smile and even bigger heart. She and her camera were fixtures at a variety of venues and music festivals. Music was her passion, her sanctuary, her ministry. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Joyce, and survived by her brother Gregg (Jeanette), her sister Julie Wright (Brad), loving extended family, and devoted friends. A private graveside service is being planned. "There's nothing you can hold, for very long, And when you hear that song come crying like the wind, It seems like all this life was just a dream." - Robert Hunter, "Stella Blue"
