Williams, Leroy Raymond "Bud" age 81, of Winsted, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Monday, April 24, 2017, at 12:30 P.M. Visitation will precede Mass from 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. at the church. Burial will take place at a later date. He was born January 13, 1936, son of David and Lucille (Schmitt) Williams. Bud served his country in the United States Army and was joined in marriage to Alice Vossen on October 7, 1961. They were blessed with 12 children6 girls and 6 boys. Bud and Alice made their first home in Excelsior before moving on to Chaska, Waconia, Mayer, Young America, and for the last 30 years, Winsted. Bud worked for Lyman Lumber Company for 44 years and retired in 1999. While working, Bud also farmed, raising beef cattle, pigs, and chickens. Bud enjoyed building utility sheds and volunteering in the community. He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a strong supporter of Holy Trinity School. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards with friends, and building with his boys. Casket bearers include Ryan Mochinski, Benjamin Schmidt, Kayla Stifter, Matthew Williams, Noah Williams, Brandon Stifter, Samantha Bleck, and Tabatha Williams. Bud is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Alice, children Janet (Rick) Schmidt of Hutchinson, Joanne (Bruce) Haugen of Brownton, Mary Williams of Burnsville, Steve (Holly) Williams of Winsted, Bruce (Heidi) of Dassel, Donna (John) Stifter of Winsted, Craig (Carla) Williams of Lester Prairie, Scott (Stephanie) Williams of Winsted, Michelle (Norb) Kramer of Watkins, Mike Williams of Howard Lake, Joe Williams of Minnetonka, and Melissa Williams of San Diego, CA. He is further survived by 29 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; siblings: David (RoseAnn) Williams, Wallace (Cathleen) Williams, Paul (Judy) Williams, Barb (Darrel) Swanson, Shirley Mueller, Cindy (Fred) Notermann, Sr. Donna Williams and Rosemary Williams; and many relatives and friends. His humble, honest, gentle ways live on in each of us. We are his legacy. Bud was preceded in death by his parents David and Lucille Williams; brother & sister-in-law, George (Pat) Williams; and sisters Mary Lou Leuthner, Betty Williams, Patricia Breeggemann, Sister Jude Williams; brother-in-law Michael Mueller; mother and father-in law Emily and Mathias Vossen; step-father-in-law, Ambrose Janikula; brother-in-laws Robert Vossen and Paul Franzen; and grandson Nicholas Schmidt.
