Daniel, Roland H. (Rollie) of Minne- trista. Born March 2, 1923, died March 31, 2017 at the age of 94. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 3 sisters, first wife Mary, and grandson, Justin Mills. He is survived by Connie Archbald, lifelong comanion; his children, Rolanda (Bill Foe) Daniel, Sharon (Mark) Limbach, Steven (Rosanne) Daniel, Julie (Mike) Guldberg; grandchildren, Bill, Ryan, Whitney (Alfredo), Alex, Danielle (Croy), Jordan, Sean, Shane; great-granddaughters, Kaetlyn, Charlotte, Skylar and Chloe; many nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Kenton, OH the 7th of 8 children of Earle and Laura Daniel. They moved to Springfield where he lived for 18 years before joining the Army. He was a part of the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment which was part of the 82nd Airborne which consisted of the 505, 507, 508th. He jumped with the 507th into Normandy in WWII and spent 35 days there. He left the 507th due to a knee injury in Aug. 1944. He is a lifetime member of the VFW. After returning home he lived in CA working in shipyards and driving truck. He went to NYU studying Orthotics and Prosthetics with his father Earle. He became certified in Prosthetics. Then he went to work for the Winkley Artificial Limb Co, Buffalo, NY in 1953. In 1972 he moved to Minnetonka, MN where he became President of American Prosthetics Inc. which he ran until 1979. He started American Orthopedics of MN and retired in Nov. 1988. He spent his winters in Yuma, AZ and summers in MN. Since retirement he joined the BAJ's (Born Again Jocks) playing tennis, softball and volleyball, along with his games of golf. He enjoyed reading, spending time with his family, and traveling the world with Connie. He belonged to the Lions Clubs of Williamsville, NY and Minnetonka, MN for a total of 22 years. He held the presidency in NY. He was a longtime member of AOPA. His was a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to BAJ's; Honor Flight of the Twin Cities; Hospice of Yuma, AZ; or Wiggle Your Toes.
